And now for something completely different.

Not really. I'm toying with shifting the viewpoint here for a bit. We're not going to get much of an opertunity to see what happens to Mir during all this (the "all this" being the coming events that you just haven't seen yet. :D ) Won't be for too long. Just long enough to...well, you'll see.

Also: If you can guess what the "And now..." comes from, you get a cookie :D

Artistically, I was still getting the hang of doing the glow from the glowy blue stuff (technical term. it's a technical term, I tell ya!). It's not as impressive a page as I'd like--those are all coming up--but it's passable.

Comments and News:

Texas is holding it's collective breath right now. It's name is Rita, it's wandering into the gulf, and the stupid thing has highlighted most of the Texas coast from Brownsville to Red River. Yip-freaking-pee. This has been a good season for hurricanes, a bad season for people. Hopefully, the thing will hit King Ranch and not Houston/Galveston, Corpus Christi/Port A or Brownsville/South Padre. King Ranch=lots of mesquete trees, lots of cows, not so many people. And if not...christwriter gets to duck a storm. Joy.

In other news...I'm in a book! The Webcomic Telethon, which raised an ASTOUNDING 28,635 dollars for Hurricane Katrina victems, is putting together a book, profits of which go to Hurricane Katrina victems (duh!). Anyway, it's going to be made up entirely of entries to the Telethon, mostly those relating to hurricanes/N.O./the evacuees themselves, and my entry made the cut. COOL!!! Anyway (and this is the relevant part) if you wanted to donate to the Telethon but didn't get to, or you want to do something charitible for the Hurricane vics but haven't yet, or you just want the neat little book, watch the Telethon website for more news on the book and be sure to grab a copy when it gets out.

Also...FORUM!

That is all. Thursday:...I'm not sayin' nothin. :D

Update: - Wednesday, September 21, 2005
Ok, gang, decided to update ya'll on what's going on in my neck of the woods.

Hurricane Rita will probably hit the Texas coast sometime Thursday/Friday. I think Landfall is going to be Friday, but it's gonna get nasty well before then. I live inland in Houston, far enough inland so that a storm surge won't hurt ME, specifically, and high enough that we probably won't flood beyond water under the doors. So barring a catastrophie, I'm gonna be OK. There is little doubt, however, that I'm gonna be somewhere in this storm and there's even LESS doubt that I'm gonna be in the really icky part. Upper right side near the eye is the worst place you can be, and the damn thing is projected to hit JUST south of Galveston. Which means there's a certain amount of nasty storm I'm going to get dumped in my lap.

THERE WILL BE COMICS! I have buffered until December, and will probably punch the first week out before Rita makes her big entrance. The only thing you may or may not get are my comments under the page.

Ok. I'll be updating this site twice a day with "how I'm doing" reports until :

A) The power goes out or

B) I decide it's too dangerous to keep the computer on in case lightening hits something valuable and fries my harddrive.

I'll also be dropping in and out of the forums all day, every day, until either event A or event B takes effect. That'll be a much faster update and I'll be able to answer any niggling questions there too.

I repeat: Comic will update on schedual until December. I am most likely safe from flooding, storm surge and full force winds.

Ok. Take care, people.
