You can't really see it well, but Shawn has a blue mohawk. Don't ask me why. Shawn just ended up with a blue mohawk. It's long, floppy and makes him look more than a little like a rooster. Miranda has a slightly odd sense of humor, which is currently jacked up because both girls are on an adrenyline high, and she's found it very amusing that the rooster is apparently Lucy's boyfriend. I know I shouldn't have to say it, though.

Also, if you're wondering how I can unintentionally give an imaginary character a blue mohawk for no reason at all...writers don't always know what they're doing. Really, really weird things just click together ten seconds before you're writing the section. My brain is a wonderful thing. Put normal stuff in and really weird, crazy crap comes out.

News: Well...the oooooh-pretty quality is going to take a nose-dive for a little while. Line-art quality will hopefully go up (meaning, I'm going to use some) but I took a few steps out of the shading process so that I could make pages faster. The next two pages were an exparament that will not be repeated, and I'm gonna see if I can't modify one of 'em to look better between now and Thursday. I hated to do it, but it's NaNo season. I really intend to be a novelist, but that means I have to write. a lot. A WHOLE lot. 11 months out of the year I have trouble getting more than 500 words in a week. During NaNo I can do 100,000 words in one month. Don't ask me why or how, I just can. Maybe it's the insane deadline or something. What comes out this year is going to be ready for a publisher by next year. That's my promise to myself...but that also means I get two choices...let quality of the comic take a dip while I prep for NaNo, or not do any comics for the entire month of November. As you really wouldn't like me stopping at November 1st--seriously, it's a bad place to break--I went with a quality dip. I'm pretty sure that I can slow things down and raise quality again now that the buffer's nearly there, so things will get better. Really, really sorry about it. Really. - Chelsea Gaither
